About USS Lexington (CC-1) Battlecruiser: The Lexington-class battlecruisers were officially the only class of battlecruiser to ever be ordered by the United States Navy, as a reaction to the building by Japan of the Kongō class. To comply with the Washington Naval Treaty in 1922, CC-1 Lexington and her sister ship CC-3 Saratoga were converted into the United States' first fleet carriers. Both saw extensive action in World War II. Lexington (CV-2) conducted a number of raids before being sunk during the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.
This kit is under co-development by 3D-WILD (USA) and its partner Model Fun Shipyard (Italy). Model Fun Shipyard, based in Italy, has extensive experience for design of warship models with tremendous attention and effort on research and accuracy of details. The model kit will be produced and distributed globally and exclusively by 3D-WILD LLC.
