About M105 DEUCE:
Developed in the mid-1990s as the 30/30 Engineer Support Tractor to give light infantry and airborne units a rapid-reaction, air-droppable, and self-deployable earthmover (capable of traveling up to 30 mph on rubber-reinforced tracks). The M105 saw its first major operational deployment in Afghanistan in 2001. Rather than frontline combat breaching or direct assault under heavy fire, the DEUCE was primarily assigned to rear or secured areas for critical combat engineering support. This included clearing and grading runways, repairing and building roadways, and general base infrastructure development.
About M172-A1 Trailer:
The M172-A1 Lowbed Semitrailer is a heavy-duty, 25-ton capacity military lowboy trailer designed primarily to transport tracked and wheeled combat vehicles, heavy machinery (such as bulldozers), and general cargo. Engineered to facilitate the rapid tactical movement and transportability guidance of logistical assets over both on-road and off-road terrain. A key service feature is its double-ended kingpin. This allows the trailer to seamlessly couple with standard fifth-wheel arrangements on both military tactical tractors (like the M52) and civilian commercial tractors.
